"SplendOri. Il lusso negli ornamenti ad Ercolano" "Splendors. The luxury in Herculaneum ornaments " Con i tesori dell'antica Herculaneum apre al pubblico la prima grande mostra del Parco Archeologico della città vesuviana. Antiquarium del Parco dal 20 dicembre 2018 al 30 settembre 2019.

Al via la mostra "SplendOri. Il lusso negli ornamenti ad Ercolano", la prima grande esposizione all'interno dell'Antiquarium del Parco Archeologico di Ercolano, per la prima volta aperto alla fruizione del pubblico a partire dal 20 dicembre 2018. Una collezione di circa 100 monili e preziosi, unica per quantità e valore dei pezzi in mostra, che viene presentata al pubblico sul luogo stesso del ritrovamento; oggetti appartenuti agli antichi ercolanesi, alcuni ritrovati con loro mentre tentavano di porli in salvo dalla incombente catastrofe dell'eruzione, altri ritrovati nelle dimore dell'antica città. Ogni materiale esposto, messaggero di una storia di antico artigianato e manifattura, di rango e di simbolo, di protezione e bellezza, oltre che dell'ulteriore valore acquisito per essere appartenuto ad un abitante e essere stato coinvolto nella tragedia della città distrutta dalla furia del Vesuvio.
"SplendOri. Il lusso negli ornamenti ad Ercolano", presentata in anteprima stampa da Francesco Sirano, Direttore del Parco Archeologico di Ercolano, Vito D'Adamo, in rappresentanza del Sottosegretario Lucia Borgonzoni assente per un sopravvenuto ed inderogabile cambio di programma e Ciro Bonajuto, sindaco del comune di Ercolano, propone al visitatore non semplicemente monili d'oro e oggetti preziosi, ma manufatti di uso personale e quotidiano che appaiono non comuni, per fattura e materiale, e provengono da contesti trasversali specificamente collegati e presentati. Questi contesti di provenienza sono illustrati sotto una luce particolare, quella della declinazione del lusso, concetto che assomma in sé molto più del mero valore intrinseco e venale, ma si carica di significati ideologici, politici, sociali, culturali, religiosi. Ambientazioni ideali domestiche e botteghe, oggetti dall'Antica Spiaggia carichi di valori simbolici e (non solo) di tipo economico, significativamente portati con sé dai rifugiati che attesero invano salvezza dal mare, restituiscono uno spaccato di vita con un taglio ben preciso che predilige ed esalta quest'aspetto della società ercolanese in tutte le sue sfaccettature.
I temi dunque della ricchezza, del valore economico sociale e della bellezza rappresentano i contenuti del percorso espositivo che trova la sua dimora nell'Antiquarium del Parco Archeologico, per la prima volta aperto al pubblico al termine di lavori di adeguamento, con particolare riferimento alla sicurezza dei reperti e alle condizioni ambientali, per la gran parte imposti dai tanti anni trascorsi dall'oramai lontana data di collaudo di questo edificio nel 1978.
"Gioielli, monete, gemme, arredi e strumenti preziosi per i banchetti delle occasioni speciali sarebbero - ha spiegato Francesco Sirano - solo "cose", per quanto preziose, se non fossero inserite in un racconto che ne evoca il profondo significato sociale, e vengono inserite nel loro contesto di ritrovamento, di utilizzo e di produzione, se non tornassero nelle mani e sui colli dei loro proprietari. I materiali provengono da edifici pubblici, dalle Domus e dalle botteghe dell'antica Herculaneum e restituiscono un'immagine vivida, complessa e felice di questa comunità. Un cospicuo gruppo di reperti fu trovato nel corso degli scavi sull'antica spiaggia, dove come noto si era rifugiato con i propri averi e nell'abbigliamento confacente al rango di ciascuno, un folto gruppo di abitanti della sventurata città in attesa della missione di salvataggio che almeno per loro non andò a buon fine".
"Il corredo di gemme e strumenti da lavoro di una bottega di gioielliere e parte del tesoro in argento di Moregine, prestiti concessi dal MANN e dal Parco di Pompei sono il segno concreto - ha sottolineato inoltre Sirano - della stretta collaborazione che ci vede uniti nei progetti culturali".
Nel sottolineare l'attenzione della senatrice per il Mezzogiorno d'Italia, il rappresentante del Sottosegretario Borgonzoni, Vito D'Adamo, ha evidenziato la presenza della delegazione del Ministero ad Ercolano come impegno particolare affinchè "lo splendore nuovo, per riprendere lo stesso termine che dà nome alla mostra, non sia solo del luogo, sede della mostra, ma del territorio intero. Il grande attrattore che è il bene culturale deve essere volano per lo sviluppo dell'intero territorio, ma vedo e sento che tutto questo ad Ercolano già sta accadendo. L'aver fatto tagliare il nastro inaugurale ad un ragazzo, giovane, - ha affermato D'Adamo - rappresenta un simbolico passaggio di consegne del passato verso il futuro, a raffigurare la riappropriazione di un'identità". All'anteprima presente, altresì, una rappresentanza di studenti della scuola di design di gioielli di Torre del Greco, a enfatizzare la connessione dei talenti e la continuità tra presente e passato della tradizione orafa artigianale.
Soddisfatto, il sindaco Boanjuto, per il networking interistituzionale messo in campo, e operativo per rendere il territorio sempre più attraente.
La mostra implementa modalità di esposizione in linea con i tempi dove il visitatore viene condotto in maniera attiva e partecipata attraverso logiche di coinvolgimento e partecipazione, che via via lo renderanno protagonista sino all'ultima sala dove in uno spazio dedicato si potranno scattare foto, quasi selfie dal passato, indossando idealmente gioielli e condividere con il mondo, diventando così ambasciatore del Parco.
La mostra "SplendOri. Il lusso negli ornamenti ad Ercolano" è inoltre animata con attività di laboratorio organizzate in collaborazione con il Tarì e con l'Istituto di Istruzione Superiore Francesco Degni di Torre del Greco, per rendere partecipi i visitatori dei processi di produzione e della tradizione artigianale plurisecolare che si è sedimentata in Campania.
"La mostra pilota pone le basi per la definitiva esposizione nel museo del sito di tutti i reperti che dal 1927 in poi Amedeo Maiuri volle che restassero qui e non confluissero più nelle collezioni del Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli. Parte così un processo museografico - ha detto, inoltre il direttore Francesco Sirano - che non resterà confinato ai laboratori ma coinvolgerà il pubblico come parte attiva della costruzione di un museo che garantisca un'effettiva esperienza di conoscenza inclusiva e partecipata. Il processo nasce dalla volontà di colmare in tempi rapidi una terribile lacuna nell'esperienza di visita del sito e interrompere il silenzio che dura da oltre 40 anni: il pubblico deve potere ascoltare proprio nell'area archeologica il racconto proveniente dai numerosissimi oggetti d'uso comune: arredi, ornamenti personali e strumenti di lavoro, decorazioni, mobili in vario materiale, dell'incredibile mole di reperti organici proveniente direttamente dalle case, dalle strade, dalle mense degli antichi ercolanesi".
La mostra sarà accessibile al pubblico dal 20 dicembre 2018 e terminerà il 30 settembre 2019. I flussi di accesso alla Mostra saranno gestiti in maniera da garantire il migliore godimento dell'esperienza.
In occasione del lancio e per favorire la più ampia partecipazione per la durata dell'orario invernale il biglietto di accesso comprensivo della vista al Parco e alla mostra resterà invariato al prezzo di 11 Euro, con riduzioni e gratuità di legge. Il Parco ha inoltre previsto particolari agevolazioni in orari e giornate dedicate solo alla Mostra: le prime si svolgeranno il 21, 22, 28, 29 dicembre quando si potrà accedere dalle 17,00 alle 20,00 con chiusura biglietteria alle ore 19,00 al prezzo del biglietto ridotto (5,5 Euro). Anche i biglietti per questi eventi speciali si potranno acquistare in prevendita fino ad esaurimento. At the start the exhibition "SplendOri. The luxury in Herculaneum adornments ", the first major exhibition inside the Antiquarium of the Ercolano Archaeological Park, for the first time open to public enjoyment starting December 20, 2018. A collection of about 100 pieces of jewelry and precious, unique for the quantity and value of the pieces on show, which is presented to the public on the location of the find; objects belonging to the ancient Herculaneum, some found with them while they were trying to save them from the impending catastrophe of the eruption, others found in the homes of the ancient city. Each exhibited material, a messenger of a history of ancient craftsmanship and manufacture, of rank and symbol, of protection and beauty, as well as of the additional value acquired for belonging to an inhabitant and having been involved in the tragedy of the city destroyed by the fury of the Vesuvius.

The luxury in Herculaneum adornments ", presented in a press preview by Francesco Sirano, Director of the Archaeological Park of Herculaneum, Vito D'Adamo, representing the Undersecretary Lucia Borgonzoni absent due to an overdue and mandatory change of program and Ciro Bonajuto, mayor of the municipality of Ercolano, offers the visitor not simply gold jewelry and precious objects, but artifacts of personal and daily use that appear uncommon, by invoice and material, and come from transversal contexts specifically linked and presented. These contexts of origin are illustrated in a particular light, that of the declination of luxury, a concept that is more than a mere intrinsic and venal value, but is charged with ideological, political, social, cultural and religious meanings. Ideal domestic settings and shops, objects from the Ancient Beach full of symbolic and (not only) economic values, significantly brought with them by refugees who waited in vain for salvation from the sea, return a slice of life with a precise cut that prefers and enhances this aspect of the Herculane society in all its facets.
The themes of wealth, social economic value and beauty are the contents of the exhibition itinerary that finds its home in the Antiquarium of the Archaeological Park, for the first time open to the public at the end of adaptation work, with particular reference to safety of the finds and environmental conditions, for the most part imposed by the many years that have passed since the distant date of testing of this building in 1978.
"Jewels, coins, gems, furnishings and precious tools for banquets of special occasions would be - explained Francesco Sirano - only" things ", however precious, if they were not included in a story that evokes their profound social significance, and are inserted in their context of discovery, use and production, if they do not return in the hands and on the hills of their owners. The materials come from public buildings, from the Domus and from the shops of the ancient Herculaneum and give a vivid, complex and happy image of this community. A large group of artifacts was found during the excavations on the ancient beach, where, as was known, he had taken refuge with his belongings and clothing suited to the rank of each, a large group of inhabitants of the unfortunate city waiting for the rescue mission that at least for them it was not successful ".
"The set of gems and work tools of a jeweler's shop and part of the silver treasure of Moregine, loans granted by the MANN and the Pompeii Park are the concrete sign - said Sirano - of the close collaboration that sees us united in cultural projects ".
In underlining the attention of the Senator for Southern Italy, the representative of the Undersecretary Borgonzoni, Vito D'Adamo, highlighted the presence of the delegation of the Ministry in Herculaneum as a special commitment to "the new splendor, to resume the same term that gives the exhibition its name, not only of the place, the venue of the exhibition, but of the entire territory. The great attractor that is the cultural good must be flying for the development of the whole territory, but I see and feel that all of this in Herculaneum is already happening. Having made the inaugural ribbon cut to a young boy, - said D'Adamo - represents a symbolic passage of deliveries of the past to the future, to represent the reappropriation of an identity ". Also present at the preview is a representation of students from the Torre del Greco jewelery design school, to emphasize the connection of talents and the continuity between present and past of the artisan goldsmith tradition.
Mayor Boanjuto was satisfied with the inter-institutional networking put in place and working to make the area increasingly attractive.
The exhibition implements exposure modes in line with the times where the visitor is led actively and participated through logics of involvement and participation, which gradually make him protagonist to the last room where in a dedicated space you can take pictures, almost selfie from the past, ideally wearing jewels and sharing with the world, thus becoming ambassador of the Park.
The exhibition "SplendOri. The luxury in ornaments in Ercolano "is also animated with laboratory activities organized in collaboration with the Tarì and the Istituto di Istruzione Superiore Francesco Degni of Torre del Greco, to make visitors participate in the production processes and the centuries-old craft tradition that it has settled in Campania.
"The pilot exhibition lays the foundations for the definitive exposition in the museum of the site of all the finds that since 1927 onwards Amedeo Maiuri wanted them to stay here and no longer merge into the collections of the National Archaeological Museum of Naples. This is part of a museographic process - said the director Francesco Sirano - which will not remain confined to the laboratories but will involve the public as an active part of the construction of a museum that guarantees an effective experience of inclusive and participatory knowledge. The process stems from the desire to quickly fill a terrible gap in the experience of visiting the site and interrupt the silence that has lasted for over 40 years: the public must be able to hear in the archaeological area the story coming from the numerous objects of use common: furnishings, personal ornaments and work tools, decorations, furniture in various materials, the incredible amount of organic artifacts coming directly from the houses, from the streets, from the tables of the ancient Herculanesi ".
The exhibition will be accessible to the public from 20 December 2018 and will end on 30 September 2019. The access flows to the exhibition will be managed in such a way as to guarantee the best enjoyment of the experience.
At the time of the launch and to encourage the widest possible participation for the duration of the winter time, the access ticket including the view to the Park and the exhibition will remain unchanged at the price of 11 Euro, with reductions and free legal provisions. The Park has also provided special facilities at times and days dedicated only to the exhibition: the first will take place on 21, 22, 28, 29 December when you can access from 17.00 to 20.00 with closing ticket office at 19.00 to reduced ticket price (5.5 euros). Tickets for these special events can also be purchased on presale until sold out. For logistic reasons these inputs will be for groups and with a limited maximum number.N.R.
